The West Wing Seasons 1-7 DVD was America's first truly successful political drama series. Producer Aaron_Sorkin had allegedly created the property to make fuller use of the White House interior sets built for his 1999 theatrical film, The_American_President. The series
The West Wing Seasons 1-7 was largely set during the administration of U.S. president Josiah "Jed" Bartlet (Martin_Sheen), a Liberal Democrat (and a devout Catholic) from New Hampshire. The first lady was Dr. Abigail "Abby" Bartlet (Stockard_Channing), who, though she publicly supported her husband in every aspect, privately expected him to hold to his promise that he would serve only one term.
Five votes keep a very important gun-control bill from being passed and the staff has 72 hours to track down the errant congressmen; Toby is accused of manipulating the stock market by having a friend testify to Commerce; Leo's wife gets fed up with his long hours.
After the Supreme Court refuses to stay the execution of a convicted murderer, Bartlet has forty-eight hours to decide whether or not to commute the sentence; Josh faces off with Joey Lucas about his staff's not backing her candidate as vigorously as she'd like.
