Insular Rights of Modern Family Season 3 DVD

Earlier on Wednesday, we had resigned ourselves to accepting that the season Modern Family Season 3 DVD finale of Modern Family would be relatively unshocking, as the Cameron/Mitchell adoption storyline has been stretched out all season long and would almost definitely be resolved.

The sitcom's creator, Steve Levitan, has offered the possible first lady a role in the show, but only if her husband's politics don't get in the way. But in a season that often felt insular and repetitive (the uniformly fantastic cast couldn’t always make up for the fact that their Modern Family 3 DVD characters were often written more like caricatures than multidimensional people), we were happy to be a little shaken up. 

There's a good reason for that. Mitchell and Cameron get a call telling them they can adopt a baby that's being born in a California border town. Sadly, this story ends with the news that Mitch and Cam will not be getting the baby.

A second phone call, this time from the mother’s Spanish-speaking buy online dvd sister (named Juanita, whom you’ll need to know for later), made it clear that the boys would need Gloria to come along for the ride to act as translator at the hospital.
