The Vampire Diaries dvd 1-2 follows the life of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) a 17-year-old high school girl, who falls in love with a 162-year-old vampire named Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley).But their relationship becomes increasingly complicated as Stefan's vicious and malevolent elder brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) returns with a plan to wreak havoc on the town and also to plan a revenge against his younger brother. The show also follows the other inhabitants of the town, such as Elena's younger brother Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen), Elena's best friend Bonnie Bennett (Katerina Graham), Elena's close friend.

    The books were good but tv is a different beast and the power of chemistry will always win out. The show shows why vampires cannot see ghosts, because they didn't truly die and go to the other side.
